Working with individuals

One-to-one coaching offers an invaluable opportunity for busy senior executives to ‘step out’ for a few hours to reflect on what is happening in their lives. It enables them to acknowledge what is going well and to work practically on what needs to improve whether the issues are short, medium or long term.

We enable the person concerned to think more clearly and objectively for themselves by providing a confidential, high trust environment, asking incisive questions and supporting, where appropriate, the development of their skills, knowledge and confidence.

Coaching may involve helping to extend their reading, introducing them to other people or organisations that can assist with their issues and organising development opportunities such as work-shadowing or joint projects.

Subject areas for discussion can range from immediate work-related problems to improving relationships or partnerships in the medium term to thinking longer term about career direction and options. Agenda content is for the coachee to decide. It is the job of the coach to design the sessions to maximise their value to ensure the person gets what they need.

Normally coaching is organised in monthly sessions of between two and three hours away from the person’s place of work. The programme may extend over three, six or nine months depending on requirements.
